THE RECORD
Language. Memory. And strange music.
Muzyka dziŭnaja brings psychedelic folk-rock and the Belarusian language into a single continuous work. Four pieces flow into one another, turning the album into a journey through memory, dream and landscape.
Koroletski’s own lyrics sit alongside poetry by Yanka Kupala. Belarusian folklore, samples from Pesniary, echoes of the films Come and See and People on the Marsh, and the familiar cadence of the Belarusian lullaby Kalykhanka are woven into the music. A powerful psychedelic current transforms these voices into something strange, vivid and new.
